Welcome to the Year of the Pig!

Sooo... who's idea was it to crack on with the newer, brighter and shinier website? Oh yes. Me. You know those little tasks you start off so enthusiastically but then become overwhelmed when you realise just how big that "pile of little tasks" actually is? Needless to say I have managed to transfer quite a bit of material from our original site but this really is work in progress so please don your hard hats and take care when looking around our new site. At the time of typing this the category links don't link anywhere yet but feel free to have a mooch around and see what you can find. The plate in the picture is on EBay at the time of writing. It's a completely new pattern to us and has a lovely vintage/shabby chic look so ideal for those of you who like to mix and match china for your tea parties. The seller admits that it's not in the best of condition (the gilding appears worn and there are slight chips on the back which suggest it has been used with a wall hanger (Don't hang plates and platters from walls!!)This might have originally been part of a tea set - most earthenware manufacturers didn't make pretty plates that weren't intended for use as plates. I can't believe we're still spotting new designs. Right, I think I need a cup of tea and a break. Happy New Year to those of you who have managed to find us in our new museum! Christine
